Preliminary Task - Final Movie

After Filming the appropiate parts from the films, We finished editing the film using the Apple Macs; we used a number of effects to enhance our film. We used an effect called 'Bleach Bypass' to give more of a dark and menacing effect to the film. We also changed the colours of the film to give it more of a dull and grey look. After editing for a couple of hours we came out with this outcome:

Preliminary Task - Script

PC french:(presses tape) 8:15pm, 20th of november 201O, lets begin shall we? (3 second silence) so where were you on friday the 14th of september mr jones?
James: (5 second pause) why do you want to know?
Pc french: just answer the question, where were you on that day?
James: (pause) i was on davis road.
Pc french: go on? At what time?
James: well...i was on davis road, i just came out of the crows nest pub, the time was around 10pm when i saw what happened.
Pc french: be more specific mr jones, wat did happen?
James: erm... I didnt see much...this guy was just outside the pub at the end of the pavement...
Pc french: i need you to carry on mr jones, explain thoroughly what happened.
James: well..he was there, then this black car pulled up, i didnt see who was in it, the guy at the end of the pavement was arguing with someone in the caar (pause) thats when the first shot went off.
Pc french: and where was you standing at this moment in time?
James: well when the car pulled up it looked like trouble, the cars windows were tinted. I went to walk round the corner and then the shot went off, i ran round the corner.
Pc french: so you didnt see who fired the shot? Was your back turned?
James: yeah my back was turned i didnt know who fired the shot.q
Pc french: so what did you do after this then?
James: erm... Peaked my head back round the corner to see what was going on, four men in balacavas came out the car, i didnt see where the other guy went.
Pc french: mr jones, please make sure you are telling us everything you know, you need to co-operate with us. Now what we already know is that the guy standing on the pavement riverio rodriguez is a notorious drug dealer.
James: (interupts) i didnt see him okay!
Pc french: we have been tracking him for a while now, according to sources he owed up to 5 grand's worth of cocaine. What more do you know mr jones? Think!
James: im trying!
Pc french: mr jones you may be prosecuted if you are holding out on critical information which will aid us in our investigation, now im going to ask you one more time, what else do you know!
James: but you dont understand...you dont know what they'll do to me..
Pc french: tell me now!!
James: i saw the men in the car shoot him, they took his body and put it in the trunk of the car, thats all i know! I swear!
Pc french: thank you mr jones that is all we need right now.
James: help me...they're gona come after me...im as goood as dead, you can help me right?
Pc french: that is all we need right now, dont worry mr jones (leaves room)
James: but you dont understand! I need protection! Help me!
( Door shuts and scene ends)

Preliminary Task - Location

We needed to use an appropiate location to film the police interrogation scene. We went to look for a particulary small room which we could change to turn it into a dark and menicing setting. We found a location at school which was almost perfect to start filming for. We managed to find an interview room which was enclosed but had sufficient space for our police interrogation scene.

Preliminary film task

Our task is to produce a 2 min film of a scene which involves a two or more people having a conversation in a room. The ideas we came up with were:

A police interrogation scene

A school meeting involving a pupil and a head teacher

Drug confrontation

After much planning and thought, we decided to develop on the police interrogation scene because it was the most appropriate and beneficial out of the rest of ideas. We came up with the idea that there is two police officers who walk into the interrogation room and start asking questions to a person. From this we came up with the idea that the person they  speak to has critical information on the officers solving a case. We decided that one of the officers were much more aggressive when they ask their questions and their patience is very thin, however the other police officer is a lot more calm and laid back. With this combination it can make the police interrogation scene much more interesting.
